Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Norfolk Concert reviews
Couldve been Better
Collective Soul still knows how to rock!
Despite the shortcomings of the venue itself, my wife and I had a great time! The show was electric! They sound great and look like they really love playing, even for such a small venue as the Hampton Casino Ballroom. The hot mass of people were stomping and hollering until the very end! This was my second time seeing them live and I can't wait until they return next year! Mannheim Steamroller Christmas play so tight as a unit - probably because they almost never stop touring - that they make the songs we all know and love come alive as if they were coming straight over the radio. There is almost no ventilation and it's hard to understand why fans and/or air conditioning is not in use. This venue is still not an ideal place to see an event.
Fabulous show for any true Crowes fan! A fantastic spackling of new music was played with some of my old faves. Next time you want to see the Crowes, BUY THE NEW ALBUM and get acquainted with the band before the show. If you're going just because you heard SHE TALKS TO ANGELS on a classic rock station a few times, take my advice......STAY HOME. I'm still trying to figure out the encore of Quinn the Eskimo. I will say that if you're going to a concert, EXPECT NEW MUSIC PEOPLE! It's about the artist moving forward, not staying in the same place playing the same ole same ole. Not complaining, just trying to figure out where they're coming from sometimes. My only complaint? I wish I didn't have to wait another year to see Mannheim Steamroller Christmas again.
Outstanding
"What a Night, What a Concert"!!!
A true "Legend"!!! They are "GREAT, HUMBLE, AND GRACIOUS" to their audience. They truly understand the meaning of being an "Artist", and their love for the audience shines through. If you are ever on the fence as to whether or not to go to one of their concerts, please do go, you will not be disappointed. We had interest in seeing them in concert once we saw the musical Jersey Boys. It was the first time we have ever seen Mannheim Steamroller Christmas in concert, and were very impressed. We both have a lot of respect for them, not only for their over the top talent, but their work ethic and professionalism. My wife and I enjoyed every moment of the concert. Lastly, the musicians were top notch, as good as you will see at any concert. I would also like to mention their backup group, they were very talented, and their vocals and dancing skills added to the quality of the concert.
